چکیده

Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is an index of greenness or photosynthetic activity in a plant. It technique obtaining various features based upon their spectral signature such as vegetation index, land cover classification, urban areas and remaining presented the image. The NDVI differencing method using Landsat thematic mapping images oli was implemented to assess chane from 2001to 2017. In present study, TM 2001 landsat 8 2017 were used extract values. values calculated satellite image year ranges 0.62 -0.41 that shows significant change across whole region its value 0.53 -0.10 .This also for changes use cover. applied according characteristic like at different threshold -0.1, -0.09, 0.14, 0.06, 0.28, 0.35, 0.5. initially computed Natural Breaks (Jenks) classify map. Results confirmed area without vegetation, water bodies, well built up barren lands, increased 35 % 39.67 2017.Key words: Index, land use/landcover,

The Impact of Land Use/Land Cover Changes on Groundwater Resources Using Remote Sensing & GIS (Case Study: Khan-Mirza Plain)

Hydrological status and water table fluctuations are directly related to land use and/or land cover (LULC) changes in each area. In this research, the impact of LULC changes on groundwater quantity and quality of Khan-Mirza Plain, in the northern Karun watersheds, was investigated. For this purpose, Landsat 5, 7 and 8 satellite images and ETM and OLI sensors were employed to prepare the L...

Assessment of Land use/land cover Change in the North-West District of Delhi Using Remote Sensing and GIS Techniques

Land is one of the prime natural resources. A city grows not only by population but also by changes in spatial dimensions. Urban population growth and urban sprawl induced land use changes and land transformation. The land transformation is a natural process and cannot be stopped but it can be regulated. Many geographical changes at the urban periphery are associated with the transfer of land f...

Detecting land cover changes through remote sensing and GIS techniques

This note concerns the updating of the land cover map of the Arno River basin (9.000 km) developed in the frame of a research project aimed at landslide risk assessment. The land cover map has been produced through the analysis of panchromatic/multispectral Landsat ETM+ images and TERRA-ASTER data; those data were integrated and compared with B/W and color ortho-photos. To improve photointerpre...

Evaluation of land use/land cover changes in Mekelle City, Ethiopia using Remote Sensing and GIS

Land use is a dynamic phenomenon that changes with time and space due to anthropogenic pressure and development. Evaluating the existing land use and its periodic change is useful for urban planners, policy makers and natural resource managers. Land use and land cover changes in Mekelle City, Ethiopia (north east Africa) over a period of 25 years was studied using remotely sensed data. Multi te...
